Take-Two CEO Addresses PC Release Strategy Ahead of GTA 6 Launch

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has spoken about the company’s approach to PC releases ahead of the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6).

While Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will arrive in Fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, there has been no official word on a PC release date. Speculation suggests that the PC version could be delayed by up to a year, mirroring previous Rockstar titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

In a recent interview, Zelnick hinted at the impact GTA 6 could have on console sales upon release.

“When you have a big title in the market—and we have many of them coming—historically, that has sold consoles,” Zelnick said.

His statement also referenced other upcoming Take-Two Interactive titles, including:

  • WWE 2K25 (March 14, 2025)
  • Mafia: The Old Country (Summer 2025)
  • Borderlands 4 (2025)

PC Market on the Rise

While Zelnick acknowledged the growing significance of PC gaming, he stopped short of confirming a simultaneous PC release for GTA 6.

“I think the trend that you’d want to focus on is this increasing share of the market that is reflected in PC,” he said.

This suggests that Take-Two is aware of the platform’s importance but may stick to its traditional strategy of launching on consoles first before bringing the game to PC.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Anticipation

Meanwhile, fans eagerly await the second trailer for GTA 6, though neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has provided any official updates.

The first trailer, released on December 4, 2023, confirmed that GTA 6 will be set in a fictional Vice City, inspired by Miami, and will feature the franchise’s first playable female protagonist.

With the game’s launch just over a year away, players remain eager for more details—including the long-awaited confirmation of a PC release date.
